This Privacy Policy explains how Keitame ー Japanese Translator handles information. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to its terms.
Who we are
Keitame is an iOS application that helps you translate into Japanese while choosing an appropriate tone such as casual, polite, business, slang, Kansai dialect, youth or internet style, playful, or old-fashioned.
Summary of our approach
We designed Keitame to avoid collecting personal information. We do not require you to create an account. We do not request your name, address, precise location, or contact list. Purchases are processed by Apple through App Store infrastructure. We may process non-personal information and limited technical data to keep the App working well and to improve quality. If you email us, we will use your email address only to reply.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect personal information from within the App such as your name, postal address, contact list, photos, or precise location. We do not collect payment card numbers. We do not create user profiles for advertising.
Purchases and subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive only what is needed to unlock features, for example a purchase confirmation and product identifier. We do not receive or store your payment instrument. Apple’s licensing terms apply to your use of the App, including the Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Non-personal and diagnostic data
The App may collect non-personal information such as device type, operating system version, App version, basic usage events, performance data, and aggregated analytics that help us understand how features are used. This information does not identify you on its own, and we do not attempt to link it to your identity.
Translation content you input
To generate translations, the text you enter may be transmitted to translation engines or language models operated by third parties so they can process your request and return a result. Keitame does not use your translation input or output to build user profiles. Within the App, you can save translations for your own reference. Saved items are intended for your personal use inside Keitame.
Service tiers and features
Keitame offers a free tier and an optional paid tier.
The free tier provides five translations per day using polite and casual tones. You can save translations for later, copy results, play audio for your translations, switch between a male and a female voice where available, expand translations for added clarity, view your in-App history, and display romaji beneath Japanese text.
The paid tier includes everything in the free tier plus unlimited translations and additional tones such as business, slang, Kansai dialect, youth or internet, playful, and old-fashioned. The paid tier also unlocks the ability to change the App icon, set a custom App tint color, and access higher quality voices for text-to-speech.
Third-party services
Keitame may integrate third-party services that help deliver translations, text-to-speech, or analytics. These providers process data solely to provide their services to you and to us. Each provider has its own privacy policy and practices. We encourage you to review those policies before using features that rely on such services. Where feasible, we minimize the data shared and use providers that commit to strong privacy and security practices.
Children’s privacy
Keitame is not intended for users under 13 years of age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact keitameapp@gmail.com so we can delete it promptly as required by applicable law.
Data retention
Non-personal analytics and diagnostic data are retained only as long as needed for troubleshooting, measuring performance, security, and improving the App. Purchase records are retained as needed for feature access, accounting, and compliance. Emails you send us are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and maintain legitimate business records.

Emails you send us
If you contact us by email, we will process your email address and any information you include so we can respond. We use this information only for support and record-keeping consistent with this Policy.
Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we continuously work to protect the App and the information it processes.
International users
Depending on your location and our service providers, data related to your use of the App may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to work with providers that implement appropriate protections consistent with applicable law.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain information. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you within the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of Keitame after an update becomes effective means you accept the updated Policy.
